Warrior Woman Guest- Ivy Mix [American Bartender, Mixologist, Bar & Bottle Shop Owner, Author, Philanthropist]
Jun 25, 2022 Season 1 Episode 8
Colo

In this episode, we speak with award winning bartender, mixologist, author, bar and bottle shop owner, and co-founder of Speed Rack, Ivy Mix.

We discuss the benefits and occasional downfalls of:

  • Having partners in various businesses
  •  Time and task prioritization
  • “Time shaming” from fellow entrepreneurs
  • Inherent competitiveness of entrepreneurs
  • Quality of life from time and task prioritization
  • Never having a true day off as a business owner,  but know that when you check in your checking on  something you’ve built.

We briefly discuss Ivy’s history as a horse trainer,  and how her personality and work ethic from that helped her as a business owner and to develop her own businesses. We also discuss  how important it is to keep active, prioritize your health and fitness, and to get out and get moving. Our bodies can take a beating whether from sedentary life or extremely active, so it's important to heal and train you body accordingly to allow it to recover, grow, heal, and strengthen through SPECIFIED strength training and conditioning.

Ivy further describes how being a twin has taught her the importance and benefits of working and partnering with others in business. With the right partners, you can rely on each other and on each other’s strengths.

We have extremely funny and real moments within this conversation of what it’s like living in Brooklyn when a car alarm goes off due to exuberant motorbike engine revs. At first one couldn't tell if it was the sound of subway breaks, construction outside, or the motorbikes. Living in NYC, it could be any one of those, and sometimes all at once!

Enjoy the show!
